Meeting of Oceans or Clash of Civilizations

Recently I received a forwarded email from a good friend of mine. This mail has dozens of excellent photographs of natural phenomenon seen in various parts of the world.

 One beautiful photo is shown below.

This photo has been described as follows:

In the resort town of Skagen you can watch an amazing natural phenomenon. This city is the northernmost point of Denmark, where the Baltic and North Seas meet. The two opposing tides in this place can not merge because they have different densities

 

Seeing the photo and reading the given description my mind took me to three verses from Surah Ar-Rahman (i.e. Chapter 55) of the Holy Quran.

 

Quran is revelation from THE ALMIGHTY to the final Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings on him).

 

Holy Prophet pointed out countless natural phenomena and also the miracles within human selves. Knowledge given by this great teacher who provided keys to the great physical and spiritual secrets is still being explored. The process of deciphering the unknown based upon the teaching of this great benefactor will continue till eternity.

 

Holy prophet’s teachings provide a comprehensive solution for mankind’s social, psychological, physical, cultural, economic, moral and spiritual needs for all times to come.

 

Coming back to the photograph and its caption let me now present Thomas Cleary’s translation of the three verses from the Holy Quran.

55:19 – Having loosed the two bodies of water to meet

55:20 — without overflowing a barrier between them;

55:21 – so which of the blessings of your Lord do you deny?

 

Commentaries on such verses have been given by scholars and scientists in numerous exegeses. I am not going in that detail here.

 

Let me now remind my readers that this is the month of Rabiul Awwal when around 571 AD the Prophet came to this earth.

Almost everywhere Muslims are celebrating his arrival. One should keep in mind that around 20 % of the human population consider this Prophet to be their guide, their saviour, their benefactor and their link to the Almighty.

Let all the bodies of water and the bodies made of water remain meeting each other in peace and serenity without any turmoil, tsunami or clash. Amen!
